Im back again with another How To post conveniently focused around products that we sell...
This time its the turn of our brand new DIY radiator cabinet kits.
First stage is yours and here is your guide to correctly ordering a cabinet kit that is big enough for your radiator
: Measure your radiator from valve to valve then add 100mm to this measurement
: Measure the top of the radiator to the floor then add 100mm to this measurement
: Measure wall to face of radiator and then add 50mm to this measurement
These extra mm's that you have added will leave space between the radiator and the cabinet allowing airflow and therefor not trapping heat inside the cabinet it will allow the heat to still leak out into the room.
Obviously house's differ and so please take some common sense into this measuring stage and take into account window cill, sockets or anything else around the radiator area. Don't forget you will be constructing this kit and putting into place so be mindful of that.
Radiator cabinets are a really nice way of turning an ugly practical heat source into a piece of furniture and our kits provide a Modern minimalist slatted design which would really go with any décor once painted. With chunky sides and top framing the slatted design its simple to build whilst being really contemporary looking not fussy, simple enough to work in a more traditional room.
So each kit provides you with
1 @ 25mm thick top shelf
2 @ 25mm thick side pieces
30mm wide by 9mm thick slats to make up the grille ( qty depend on the overall size of the radiator cabinet )
2 @ guide rails which you glue the slats to top and bottom to prevent the slats moving out of position
Once you have built your radiator cabinet using our pre-cut pack you can paint it to the colour of choice and place into position. Its really easy to do and not very time consuming. Please ensure spacing the slats apart enough to allow airflow and heat to go into the room id personally suggest 15mm spacings but the beauty of this kit is that you have full creative control.
